Renew Your Mind: Take Every Thought Captive
As we enter the month of September, let us remember that one of the greatest battles we face often takes place within our minds. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Our minds can easily become overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, discouragement, toxic thinking, and negative imaginations. If left unchecked, unhealthy thoughts can begin to control our emotions, influence our decisions, and steal the peace that God has promised us.
This month, I encourage you to become more aware of what you are allowing to occupy your mind. When a thought brings fear, doubt, self-sabotage, worry about what others think, or causes you to imagine the worst possible outcome, pause and ask yourself: “What was I just thinking?” Identify the thought and honestly examine whether it is objectively true or simply your imagination creating a stressful scenario.
Once you recognize an unhealthy or toxic thought, do not allow it to continue controlling your mind. Pause, take a moment to breathe, and bring that thought before God in prayer. Ask the Lord to help you release the thought and replace it with His truth. An empty mind can easily return to familiar patterns, so it is important not only to remove negative thoughts but to intentionally replace them with the promises of God.
When fear tells you that you are alone, remember God's promise: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” When anxiety tries to pull your mind into an imagined future, bring your attention back to the present moment. God meets us where we are, and His grace is sufficient for today. You do not have to carry tomorrow's worries before tomorrow arrives.
Throughout this month, make a conscious decision to choose growth over fear, faith over worry, purpose over distraction, and God's promises over negative thoughts. Renewing your mind is not always a one-time event; it is a daily practice of recognizing unhealthy thoughts, capturing them before they take root, and replacing them with the truth of God's Word.
As you practice identifying, capturing, and replacing unhealthy thoughts with God's truth, your mind will become stronger, your faith will grow deeper, and your peace will become greater.
May this be the month you move forward with renewed strength, greater clarity, and unwavering faith. Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

The Story of the Birth of Empress Rose Legacy
Many can empathize with the trauma you experience after a great loss or the death of a loved one. I too, have experienced several great losses in my life. After the passing of my husband, close cousin and father in 2019-2020, I left the United States and found refuge in the country of Costa Rica, where my healing journey began. As I moved through the stages of grief and tried to bargain with God, He comforted me and changed my name. While sitting at my desk in my bedroom, He spoke to my heart and said, "You are Empress Rose". Just like the flower. This was a profound moment of personal recognition and a call to embrace my inner strength and grace. I began to look inside myself and asked myself "Am I what God says I am, this Empress Rose flower, what is it?"
Brindabella Red Empress Rose
A Brindabella Red Empress Rose is a deep red, richly scented rose that blooms again and again, symbolizing strength, beauty, and renewal throughout every season. The Empress Roses are very strong, elegant, and are known for their powerful genetics in growth. They are resistant to fungal diseases, they are self-cleaning, and have an exquisite round double flower petal growth pattern, and have all the attributes of a THRIVER. While sitting there, I began to write out my thoughts and emotions. I said out loud, "God are you saying just as this rose survives and blossoms despite what each season of it's life brings, that I too shall not only survive this, but grow from it?" And God said to me "The sun will shine again." The word of God states, "Your sun will never set; your moon will not go down. For the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end." (Isaiah 60:20 NLT). And God led me to publish a book and workbook in 2021 titled "The Birth of Empress Rose, I Want to Live and Love Again", and that's how Empress Rose Legacy was born. This was just the beginning. A year later I came back to the United States and was faced with the loss of my mother and sisters and past chapters in my life that I had to face, and close out. God hid me for a few years and showed me, me and how much spiritual personal work was still needed. Through physical health challenges and pulling down strongholds, I did the work, faced the pain and found a way forward. During this time, God showered me with His love and His mercy, and gave me clarity on this vision and that's how Empress Rose Legacy was reborn. Now it's time to thrive together and Live & Love Again, start by loving yourself.
